REQUESTS
Approve the exact thing being asked for
When a child requests an app outside the curated path, the parent sees the request and chooses Approve or Decline. The design goal is a scoped decision—not a general unlock.

FROM CHILD REQUEST TO INSTALLED APP
A visible chain of responsibility.
Child attempts Install
The managed tablet keeps the normal installation restriction in place.
Request reaches Parent
The request is associated with the requested app rather than becoming an unrestricted permission.
Parent decides
Approve or Decline from the Parent App.
Approved install proceeds
The shield can release for the approved flow so Google Play can complete the install.
Policy restores
After completion, the normal managed installation restriction returns and the app remains subject to family policy.

Parent phone lost
Parent access is intended to be account-linked rather than permanently tied to one handset. Recovery/relinking will be part of pilot support.
Child tablet offline
Core on-device policies are designed to continue locally; remote changes wait for connectivity to return.
Managed device needs service
Administrator recovery, reprovisioning and replacement are handled as managed-device operations rather than child settings.
